Great video! I love the witches, it's my favourite movie of all time. I'm glad someone else also noticed that Luke and his Grandma are isolated from everyone else. No one really interacts with them and they are treated as bad by the hotel manager and Brunos parents. Whereas, ironically the witches get special treatment at the hotel and like you in really well at the hotel.

I haven't seen or read The Witches so I can't comment on that sadly : D The second book in A Series of Unfortunate Events really disturbed me when I read it in 6th grade, even more so now that I'm an adult and reread the first book which painted this scene in an even creepier light. There's this scene where Count Olaf in disguise sits with the children and their guardian at the dinner table and he has a knife in his hand under the table and keeps rubbing it (I believe the wording was Gently sawing it against her leg but it's been a while) against Violet's leg. It really disturbed me because it rang a lot of alarm bells in my head but I couldn't understand /why/ until over a decade later. I remember it bothering me so much that it haunted me, like the image of it happening would drift in when I was doing school work even in high school (and post-graduation as well. I hope you feel better soon, man.

I grew up watching this movie. And at 34 years old it never gets old. I watched it with my children and they loved it. It is witty, funny and overall a feel good classic that I still enjoy all these years later. When everybody hate Chris meets U know. One thing to mention is that throughout the film the daughter and mother relationship is shown as rocky, however during the entire film we do see that theyre actually more connected than anyone else in the family. With them both sharing the same dream of the mother seeing her daughter by the bed and the daughter dreaming of her being by her parents bed. Also obviously at the end of them describing the same exact vision / hallucination of the mother walking through the house into the daughters bedroom and the daughter being in the bedroom when her mother walks in. Sad thing to note, the family at the end think the “puzzle” is solved and her daughter is at peace but the very last photo they take shows her watching them from inside the house as theyre leaving her behind, by herself. I think the daughter still wasnt at peace but far from it.

Look how they massacred my boy. The folk that believe and know that the title of 'Grand High Witch' will always belong to Anjelica Huston✊ 👇. Ive only seen the 1956 film. My school had these books that told the story of many of the old school horror movies. They were short, and also gave some background on the film. I loved those books and read every one I could find (Frankenstein meets The Wolf Man, It Came From Outer Space, Invasion Of The Body Snatchers, Night Of The Living Dead. Those books introduced me to that era of filmmaking, and I love it. From the thumbnail I thought this was Hocus Pocus Anne would have been good in that this doesnt hit right. Anjelica Huston was awesome and so scary Annes put on accent takes away from the scariness of the character Edit: now really wanting a Hocus Pocus with Anne and Octavia as witches.

When I first heard of this movie, I was expecting something exactly like the book. But this wasn't a replica, this was an adaption. This was a very well made adaption, even though it didn't get really good reviews. I would consider this to be a highly underrated motion picture. Of course, it could have been made much better, but considering the cast picked, and the way they adapted the characters; that's why I say that it could have been better. Besides all of that, this is a really good film.

The girl in the painting was always the scariest thing to me. She lived a whole life all alone. Way to camp and bright. The story is about a load of Witches murdering children this seems to light. Philip Kaufmann's Invasion of the Body Snatchers is my favorite version of this film, if not my favorite Sci-Fi Horror. Thank you for doing this retrospective look. My hometown is the place the first officially ghost-finding device was invented. The inventor made it to communicate with his daughter, who died just before prom. We have a mural of her prom dress in the school. According to him, he was inspired to create it after he was in a deep depression, and he heard her voice tell him it was all going to be alright. This video brought it all back.
